Vision
Established through the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) on September 1, 1994, the Texas A&M Center for Applied Technology (TCAT) was envisioned to bridge the gaps between theoretical research, emerging technologies, and the challenges of real-world implementation.
Mission
The Texas A&M Center for Applied Technology’s mission is to provide quality applied research and development of practical engineering solutions to meet critical state and national needs.
- Expand the research and technical expertise of The Texas A&M University System.
- Establish partnerships/alliances with the Engineering Programs, private industry, government agencies, and other universities to promote the economic development of the state of Texas and the Nation.
- Bring together under The Texas A&M University System umbrella a unique mix of academia, industry, federal, and military expertise to achieve solutions to real-world problems.
TCAT’s specializes in the design, development, delivery, and insertion of technology to solve targeted problems, engaging the entire continuum from basic to applied research. The TCAT team encompasses a wide array of experience, and through utilization of a unique mix of knowledge and skills, can span interdisciplinary boundaries and couple its research strengths with proven capabilities and capacity to accomplish targeted challenges.
Through its position within The Texas A&M University System, TCAT has access to world-class faculty and researchers and some of the Nation’s most technologically advanced research facilities. Since its inception, TCAT has performed over $150 million in projects and delivered enabling technologies to a diverse set of customers.
